PG&E Project
The Lake County Resource Conservation District and Fire Safe Council received a grant from Pacific Gas & Electric in April 2023 for $65,000 to perform evacuation route clearing along three roadways identified in the Lake County Wildfire Protection Plan:
Soda Bay Road
Extending South of Buckingham Golf and Country Club approximately 3,608 feet from Golf Drive to Crystal Drive.
Seigler Canyon Road
Extending North from Big Canyon Road for approximately 3,838 feet.
Spruce Grove Road
Extending from near Tinilyn Road approximately 3,280 feet to Jerusalem Grade.
The goal of this project was to make the roadways safer for vehicles attempting to escape wildfire. Encroachment Permit #14010 was issued by the Lake County Public Works Department to perform this work in August 2023. Hogback Ridge Fuels Crew performed hand work along Soda Bay Rd and Spruce Grove in October 2023. South Lake Fire Protection District performed mastication work in November 2023.
