The Meisenbach Scholarship, established in 2012 by the Lake County Resource Conservation District (LCRCD), honors Frank Meisenbach, a lifelong farmer and former President of the LCRCD Board. Frank was a dedicated community member and a passionate advocate for environmental stewardship. This $1,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a student pursuing education in environmental fields, carrying forward Frank’s legacy of commitment to the environment.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a student from Lower Lake High School, Middletown High School, or Woodland Community College, Lake Campus
  • Enrolled within 18 months of high school graduation in an academic, vocational, or technical program
  • Pursuing a degree or certification in Environmental Science or related fields (e.g., Conservation, Sustainable Agriculture, Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Law, etc.)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Must provide a reference from a teacher, professor, or mentor for a phone interview with LCRCD

How to Apply:

  • Complete the online application form by Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
  • Email the following documents to [email protected]:
    1. A PDF copy of your most recent high school or college transcript
    2. A PDF copy of your Personal Statement (300-500 words) that addresses:
      • Your educational and career goals
      • The experiences that inspired your interest in the environmental field
      • How this scholarship will help you achieve your goals
      • How you overcome challenges to stay focused on your objectives
    3. Contact information for a teacher, professor, or mentor willing to participate in a phone interview.
